I have a mechanic who while fixed my cars existing problem, messed with my A/C and airflow. What can I do?

This happend in upstate ny, where this guy has always been dependable. However, the day after I get my car back, none of my vents will blow air and my A/C on won't turn on. Its obvious it was my mechanic since he was messing with my hoses and what not. Did I just get stiffed? Or is there sometype of customer rights with mechanics so we don't get sheisted.
