Our new asphalt paving runs right up against our house wall. Suggestions to prevent this earth-wood contact?

We live in a forest and for 10 years made do with a dusty dirt driveway until last week when we hired a paver. The contractor paved right up to our garage door opening and all along the edge of the house on that side, covering up the bottom inch of about 20 feet of the 4' X 8' sheets of doug fir siding. I know this is bad because it provides a hidden entrance point for wood-eating bugs to get up into the framing and start munching on our house. I can't pry the plywood out from under the asphalt, so what can we do to eliminate this problem of the paving coming up too high? This forest is filled with hungry termites and wood borers that would love to start feasting on our home!
