Wifi connection goes off and on?

We just switched to bright house internet, and we have a cisco wireless router. During storms, and other random times of the day, we will try to connect our laptops to the wifi and it won't work. Other times it will. We've been using the router for a year before the internet was switched and we've never had this problem. What can we do?
