How do I find more info on foreclosed home I want to buy?

A long story short..... I live in Kansas. There is a home I want to purchase that was foreclosed on about 9 months ago. I went thru the county taxes and found who owned it prior to foreclosure. I talked to them and found out which bank owned the title, who I then called and was told the property needed to be prepeared, but the foreclosure was finalized. I called them back about a month and a half later and they said they dont "think" they own it and give me numbers to 3 other banks, none of which know anything about it. I dont know who else to call at this point.
