Freelander 4x4 window broke help!?

it was a cold morning so i defrosted the car i went to press the electric window down i heard a noise so i tried to put the window back up and it wont go back up so i got my neighbour to look at it and he said ithe wire had worn out so i took it to the garage and asked for a wire he said you cant just buy the wire you have to buy the moter with it aswell he said �200 in total but the thing is im a mum of three and cant afford to be spending that much has anyone got any ideas where or how to just but the wires thanks xxx
