Please Help in Serious Need of Technical Help?

Hi everybody i have a windows vista 64 bit laptop and run acid 8.0 on it...(I'm a musician)...And i recently got a numark dj io audio interface to go along with it as well as a MXL 990 condenser microphone. I downloaded the driver for the audio interface and i know it is compatible with my version of windows vista... The problem is that when i go to settings and try to put it as the audio devise, it lets me but it wont let me record the audio track...i know that it should work because it works for the built in microphone in my laptop...i have gone through the tutorials and i still dont have an answer...How do i record with my setup???Please help me
