Is it acceptable to include personal opinions for book reports?

I'm doing a book report of the autobiography of Malcolm X. The book is controversial and I have developed my own opinions pertaining to his adulthood and Islam beliefs. Is it bad taste if I include my own opinions? The report is 10 pages long, and without my own thoughts, I don't think it would be long enough or very interesting..
